Ever since I made my Middle east 2050 project back in 2014 I have grown to like the idea of having a high tech mecha inspired world coexisting with our diverse cultures and life styles.

This is me returning to that theme but in South Africa, No plans to make more pieces like this, I still want to work on my anatomy and drawing realism before I attempt something big like Middle East 2050 again, 

But even with that said I am happy with the outcome of the image.

I love seeing life from another country I have no real experience of and I will even go out of my way to hunt for videos, photos even music of these unique towns /places so I can see the cultures for what they really are and not what mass media or entrainment tends to label them as, which are usually negative stereotypes.

Being wanting to do some more art with my OC characters for a few weeks and I thought for a nice change of pace instead of drawing the cute ones lets draw the deliberately grotesque villain character.

Meet Dr Lampshade

Do not be fooled by his massive bulging weight or hairy appearance folks. This abomination is a mad man with an obsessive nature for turning lamps and lights in to Weapons and robots under his control .All his inventions including the lamp on his head are a part of his crazy world he delights in.

Despite his evil intentions His hide out is always very well lit So you will never see a dark patch any where. =D

Jowybean shenanigans 14/3/16

Tonight I decided to test my speed painting skills with two initial colours and then see where the process took me from there. 

The above speed painting is a quick example of the type of personal work I would like  to continue to create outside my current ongoing projects like Humanization.com 

A juxtaposed universe of fantasy and reality with a strong emphasis on architecture and cartoons.

Below is my WIP of the speed painting.

Hey all 

Decided to have a practise at my speed painting this week while listening to two of my favourite songs from two amazing artists Listener and Tori Amos . each speed painting is supposed to be evoking a different scene and atmosphere Music next to art is my second biggest inspiration when it comes to my work.

each painting took an hour and a half in photoshop CS6.

I am trying to apply and improve a lot more on realism the expressions I give each figure.

a future speed painting/ Illustration idea.

I tried to explore some action based composition trying to capture that moment of brutal impact.

to make the setting more interesting I imagined this been set in a swiss town.
