Doing some more music Sketching. This time this is from one of the best rap albums of all time "A book of Human language" from Aceyalone.

I see these sketches not just as illustrations but as rough concepts for really elaborate 90s music videos, As that was the decade the album came out.

On occasion I like to sketch out silly ideas for illustrations/ digital paintings while listening to different types of music. Helps keep my imagination fresh and exciting.

Jowy shenanigans 3/9/15

l have been thinking recently about creating small comics based off lyrics to various songs to challenge my sequential art skills for future issues with Humanisation.com.

The top thumbnails are inspired by this song (below) Drive He Said from one of my all time favourite music artists Steve Taylor. Its quirky and leaves a lot of interesting panel and pose ideas to play with. also more cars are a bonus. =D

Hey all 

Decided to have a practise at my speed painting this week while listening to two of my favourite songs from two amazing artists Listener and Tori Amos . each speed painting is supposed to be evoking a different scene and atmosphere Music next to art is my second biggest inspiration when it comes to my work.

each painting took an hour and a half in photoshop CS6.

I am trying to apply and improve a lot more on realism the expressions I give each figure.

a future speed painting/ Illustration idea.

I tried to explore some action based composition trying to capture that moment of brutal impact.

to make the setting more interesting I imagined this been set in a swiss town.

While the amazing (cough) eclipse was happening in England today I was listening to Boogie Down Productions Ghetto Music album and K pops (SNSD) Girl Generation and felt inspired to sketch based off the styles music.

Jowy shenanigans 14/9/14

Today I was listening to one of my favoiute Listener songs called Train song. 

This song evokes a lot of powerful imagery For me its The clash between the homeless and the struggling.

The Sketch above is for a possible digital painting I may do in the future that juxtaposes elements of the song with my imaginative world. The homeless mans head is supposed to be in the shape of what I assume is a medical illustration of an ear on the front cover of the Listener album "Whisper Moon". 

The three characters in the background are based on animations from a documentary about abused homeless/ kids but I can not remember the name of it otherwise I would have linked to the cartoons.
