Jowybean shenanigans 24/7/16

Listening to some of Phil Collins songs and did some speed painting to I Don't Care Anymore. Thinking of it as a music video, I know there already is one but I did this before I Knew that there was a MV for the song.

Jowybean shenanigans 25/6/16

Some new quick music doodles I made today based on two different songs.

Jowybean shenanigans 5/5/16

Some new music sketches inspired by one of my favourite unknown hip hop groups from the 90s  Boogie Monsters =D

These two songs are some of their best work but everything they made in my opinion was pure gold.

Honeydips in Gotham.

Old Man Jacob's Well.

Jowybean shenanigans 14/4/16

Some rough thumbnail ideas for future illustration ideas inspired by very different songs.

Largo - Ko Ride

Gregory Whitehead - Twilight For Idols

I really enjoy experimental music that uses unusual sounds to create a weird contrast to the tone of the music in this case smashing glass among an unknown chant.

   Steamboy - Manchester 1866

Jowybean shenanigans 6/4/16

If you go through my recent posts You will notice I have got in to a habit of sketching illustration ideas inspired by different songs and music.

Last month I came across this rare 90s rap album called Tricks Of The Shade by The Goats.

I feel in love with not only the music and lyrics but the story of the characters Chicken Little and His baby Brother Hanger Head looking for their uncle Scam at his freak show. The voices they provided remind me so much of animated cartoons that instead of creating an illustration idea I decided to design the freaky brothers using the audio and concept of the album.

Below I have included a sample of The albums interludes that feature the two characters .

Honestly Tricks Of The Shade is a unique and fun experience that every rap fan needs to hear. =D

Jowybean shenanigans 30/1/16

Doing some more music Sketching. This time this is from one of the best rap albums of all time "A book of Human language" from Aceyalone.

I see these sketches not just as illustrations but as rough concepts for really elaborate 90s music videos, As that was the decade the album came out.

Jowybean shenanigans 25/1/16

On occasion I like to sketch out silly ideas for illustrations/ digital paintings while listening to different types of music. Helps keep my imagination fresh and exciting.

Jowybean shenanigans 17/1/16

Mike Patton mostly known for being the lead singer of Faith No More is in a nut shell an extremely experimental diverse artist and composer. I personally am more familiar with his work on the bands Mr Bungle, Fantomas, Peeping Tom and recently some of his solo albums including Mondo Cane. I decided to paint this semi realistic illustration showing the contrasting vocal range he can switch to within seconds. Listening to his music is always uh......an experience shall I say. smile emoticon
the final result is not perfect in my eyes but I had fun painting something to do with my love for music.

Some of the Work in Process below.

Jowybean shenanigans 19/12/15

I used to be a big fan of street art and graffiti never created any of it myself but I tired.

here I have two concept ideas for graffiti tags.

the first is inspired by a song title Acid police from Japanese noise rock band The Boredoms.

This one was inspired by thinking about actual spaghetti.I call it Spaghetti Brain.
