Jowy Shenanigans 15/2/13

I really wish that the deep recesses of my brain could think up another expressive word to describe how my week has been but here it goes. Hey it’s been a BUSY last few days so much so that i have hardly had anytime to continue with my personal projects. My stupid macbook finally ran out of space Thursday. So I spent the whole of yesterday deleting its useless baggage of files and programs. It is nice to have it refreshed and organized now.

Bring it on next week things will be different this time. 

 and now some tablet doodles i did in between everything else. 

based on a true story expect the monster part and i do have a jacket like that.

Since I have started been more regular with updating and considering theres nothing to show for humanise.com or other work today I decided to archive or upload some of my older pieces.

 they were either used for university work or personal goals to improve my art. I tend to be a very picky about what drawings and sketches I show on the web because I want to show the best of the best not stuff that looks like it was done four years ago.

these were comic pages i wanted to do for one of my own characters but it was nowhere near what i was looking for looking back at it now i quite like the roughness and inconsistent character design.

Jowy Shenanigans 11/2/13

Here we are again folks its been snowing outside today, I had my sister over the weekend back from uni. I talked for hours on Skype with brony friends and I am still working hard and boy what a weekend it was for said word.

The 10yearitch site that I have been doing paid illustrations for since last week asked me to design a FB banner for (to sound redundant) their FB page so it would give their services more publicity and it had to incorporate the logo as well. The time scale on this piece was shorter and there were a couple modifications to the design along the way.

The client wanted an Indian inspired character right below the Like button so It would look like he was pointing at it so you would be more tempted to hit that like and check out the site. They asked for a version without the boy and instead replace him with a tiger to show the wildlife of India.

The colours yet again were very vibrant showing the warm climate of the country. I really enjoyed colouring all these illustrations in because I learned more about my personal chose of colours and moods when doing digital art.

Their were a couple of changes in the final as you can tell I had to shrink it down to fit in to the FB cover dimensions the sky was a little too dark for the clients liking even though I personally thought it brought the back drop forward. And the character had to have his hand redrawn to actually point at the like button.

I look forward to the next job I get where I can explore my adaptable styles in illustration some more.

Humanise.com comic project update time

CADRA and Mutt (main characters) will be happy to know that their masters have returned to the comic project Humanise.com today Hazzah lol. I got some actual page layouts done not draft ones but detailed thumbnails following the script I posted last month.

once i have finished drafts of these pages they may make a lot more sense ^^;

Its good to get back to this project and I feel confident about the story a lot more now that I have some layouts to look over and start actually finishing while asking advice from my Dad whose the writer of the series.

I am fairly busy with other shenanigans this week so there is not going to be much posted this week.....maybe but I shall do my best as always to upload and update as regularly on here as much as I physically can.

Jowy Shenanigans 8/2/13

Consternated on the 10YEARITCH website job for the second banner design. Tried to get it to a similar standard as my first banner. This time it was for the destinations page and i wanted to look at other icons to represent India then going with cliché or copycats of the pervious design. 

India is a fascinating and colourful country 

the flute character was taken out because the clients felt he seemed out of place or unneeded and the text was changed to the web address so my art work could stand out a lot more. 

Looking forward to the next lot of work I do with this site but this weekend I want to spend some time on the other projects that need some loving and attention.

Plus I need a haircut ^^;

Jowy Shenanigans 7/2/13

I woke up this morning had my breakfast did all the usaul things one does to prepare himself for the day ahead. I stare in to the bathroom mirror look sternly in to my refection and mentally shout WHAT HAS JUST HAPPENED.  

The thought of all the unfinished projects I am currently doing (I counted about five last time I updated my DA journal) has hit me kind of hard today. Like weights falling on top of me it’s a whole new feeling I have never really experienced to this degree.

Now I do exaggerate a little its not being that draining but the last few days have challenged my time and patience.

i also did this crazy animatic storyboard thing inspired by the intro to the band Within Temptation song Enter on tuesday night to keep my creative mind going. 

I tend to ramble on a lot in posts because I like to be in depth with my work and make it more interesting to look at and think about. But today I want to keep it nice and simple. Just because of my current mood, which is set to tiredness I have worked a lot this week.

I applied to a paid job on Elance to redesign the banners for an online idian Travel portal site called 10-YEAR ITCH where they advertise a range of different itineraries and destinations for the country.

I been the adaptable illustrator I am decided to submit my proposal with examples of my illustration work attached and they considered me for the job then once I showed them my thumbnail ideas I had for the banner they accepted me for the work.

The time scale for the whole thing was about 6 hours over two and a half days and it was coloured in Photoshop CS6.

They liked the finish piece so much that they now want me to help out with the websites other pages, which could include twitter, and face book so it’s an exciting time to finally get some paid work for professional use.  

Speaking of pay another friendly brony on DA asked for a paid commission of another fan fic called Blunder and Lightning which I just finished last night.

I know this stuff may be pony related and I tend to leave my fan art off ths blog but its still work related so its only fair. 

and now the process of said commission without any words because it explains itself. 

right i am going to take it easy now rest a bit and come back  refleshed and  ready to get going on all the other projects.

Jowy Shenanigans 3/2/13

UP - DATE...... u get it 

Opps Sorry if there have not been a blog post in a few days a lot of shenanigans happened last week and I have found it a little more challenging to juggle all these projects and things I am doing consistently to get my work noticed by the web.

What happened last week I hear you mentally say?

My talented musical friend Cameron Aka C-Dog was interested last year in doing a comic series for my character Jowy. before the end of last year I had given him a brief rundown of the world and the characters that inhabit it so he could write some material in his spare time.  On Wednesday he emailed me 3 scripts he had written for my characters and was I impressed. He really captured their personalities and made them believable. I now want to start working on this thing so badly. But I have to be realistic with time and consider what is priority.

I joined Behance officially so link to some of the professional more finished pieces of mine  .

This colourful  MLP FIM dragon crossover picture was a paid commission I got from someone on DA for his fan fiction Fiery Incantation .

I have read some of it and being the brony I am outside of my work life Its really got me interested in checking out more pony fics they are written quite well.

Nowhere I was busy with the commission and job searching that I put the development on hitas last week. This coming week I start layouts for the story it’s going to be great.

Last thing I want to mention before I close this post out is that I am having a blood test early tomorrow morning because there sadly is a history of relatives in my family dying from heart attacks later on in their lives. I am sure we can all agree that’s the last thing I want to deal with down the road.

NO Please NO... NO the legend of the Titanic animated movies JUST GIVE ME THE STING XD

So yeah them needles I am scared and secretly panicking. Drawing this exaggerated cartoon on my tablet has clamed me down and made me realize its not that horrible and these are professionals who know what they are doing. No need to worry (unless you live in cartoon reality) then RUN FOR THE HILLS.
