unexpected Jowy Shenanigans updates 17/11/13

This has come up at just the last minute and is going to make my week that little bit busier. My good old university BCU has invited me to a showcase-networking event on Tuesday where I could really spread the world of Jowybean around lol and exchange contacts with other businesses. There’s over 100 attendees going to it and some of us are getting a table so I need to prepare for it fast. I have my table booked but I need to gather together a proper portfolio for the event.

Crafty Muthas fair this Saturday coming (23rd nov) I am still going to. I believe these two separate events could make or break my freelance business but this year has being mostly exploring and taking risks and so far it’s all paid off really well.

Sneak Peek at my new Illustration Friday submission that i plan to have done by wednesday

I usually do not show my super sketchy sketches because of my perfectionate mind but these are drawings based on my own characters who i have grown to adore and enjoy drawing more . Not as much as ponies but i am making space in my busy creative life to doodle them at least

until next Post LATERS ;)

What happened to the daily thing you said

Fell like I have dropped the ball on my blog posting again sorry it’s a bad habit (laziness) that will change. Reason why i do not post a lot is because i have spent almost an hour and a half doing theses and that gets boring quickly. i like to have a good amount of information when i update then just give you something pretty to look at.

big update coming in the next few days or sooner depends

 until next post LATERS  ^^;

Jowy Shenanigans 26/2/13

After my 22nd birthday i got a sudden love for reading and watching anime and manga again. It was after I read volume one of a manga called Peepo Choo by Felipe Smiths on Sunday night. Such an interesting story that hooked me near the end and has a colourful cast of characters even if half them look dickarish and are.

Sorry I would have posted a proper update yesterday but I had to recover (and I use that term very loosely) from my birthday over the weekend and I had some shenanigans to attend to as well stuff that I fear I will fall asleep telling you.

I had herd of Gun Smiths Cats (thats what this character is supposed to be inspired by) the anime then i watched it and in my opinion its passable the manga looks a lot more fun and deep though the theme song is really jazzy and i like it.
I now started formulating a tiny list of other series I would like to check out.
See if I could become a bigger anime fan then I am now (that most likely will not happen considering my time spent on all these individual artist projects.

 Speaking of which…

10 yearIcth website banners  Elance job

The company asked to too do some more art for the site as part of their rebranding this time it was for a questions page. The brief was similar to my pervious illustrations with the series. Colourful and straight to the point.

eyes were a little derpy but i fixed that

I have been doing some paid work with some other people and contacts I know but these projects are still in development so no information about it as now just adding some more filler for the post.

Sadly there’s not being any process with the developing comic Humanise.com. Because of everything else I have had to consternate on. I will try with all my power and energy to get something out this week at least so I can keep a coincident update record on the blog.

i hate slaking off like i used to do on this blog

perspective on guns are tricky sometimes when your justing doing rather then thinking  DOH

anyway i am going to go and watch some more crazy animations and movies now

 Until next post laters ;)

Jowy Shenanigans 22/2/13

its very bothering that there are no railings along most of york cities walls  which did scare me uh a little for kids safety

OK This has been a family focused week since we went down to York to see how my sister was settling in to university life after only four months. She’s been doing so well that I think we agree with her that she would rather not come back to Birmingham.

During my day visit to york city I did something I have not done in a while a bunch of observation sketches.

Also I developed on the world of Jowy some more looking at backgrounds and new characters that could fit in to the crazy cast of characters I already had.

This is a rather short post because my 22nd birthday is tomorrow and I am excited for it or at least optimistic so I want to get an early night so I can experience the day wide awake.

There’s lots more to show but I will share that stuff after the big day

Until next post Laters  ;)

Jowy Shenanigans 16/2/13

MUG SHOT lol
also the name of a jerk boss from Sly Cooper 1

You know I could do with a nice drink after all the development I have done for my personal projects today. And I kept to my schedule for once YAY. Yes I do keep scheduled times in my diary for what projects to work on each day as there are so many to consider.

Right now I should be witnessing the highly anticipated finale of MLP season 3 and jumping on the hype or hate but I want to upload this stuff now work comes first before ponies in my book.

"blasphemy"

Humanise.com epic comic project Development

I have wanted for about a week to get a polished coloured line up of the three main characters. Today was the day I finally buckled down and finalized a clearer idea of their physical appearance although they will not look so shall I say um….Disneyish in the final product.

Process time from start to finish

Mutt: is Cadras loyal pet who dresses as a cat for a reason i assure you

Cadra: (Ctrl/alt/delete) our heroine of the story who will be thrown in to the deep end

The Prince: no idea what his name is but he and Cadra will cross paths but not in the love kind of way  his a bit of a  D bag to put it light thats how my dads writing him.

quickly sketched out other characters i could create as line up sheets later on

i spend a lot more time on line art then colour with my characters to be honest

it seems coloured lines make ones work more animated looking which i like

Its not just Cadra who’s had attention today Jowy got some love as well.

Thanks to my close musically talented friend Cameron or C dog there may be an actual jowy comic sooner then later. I mentioned a while back he wrote 3 scripts for my characters and I was very impressed with his depiction of my crazy world. During intervals in between my busy life I did do some extremely quick thumbnails to layout the story and panels i did some more of them today. These are just a taster of whats to come. I am going to ask Cameron if its alright to put up his script of part 1 on the blog.

Lastly to round up the post is more news on my cartoons for the warley woods trust

To keep it short for those who do not know my woods runs a trust that do a lot of community work in the area and promote the woods in a positive light I have given myself the task of designing possible cartoons that they could sell to visitors as well as promote my services to professionals.

A finished example

These are some of the newer pieces I have been improving on in the series

i stopped this one because of the amount of detail and the line art was just not doing it for me it seemed less crisp compared to the others.

A woods themed birthday card why not

Phew thats it for tonight still a lot to think about and its my uncles birthday soon but his coming to see us tomorrow so i need to get him a nice picture done before then

until next post folks LATERS ;)

Humanised.com comic sample script 23/1/13

cast of the comic in terms of design as of now.

After a long wait since starting
This epic project i finally was able to upload what story my dad had written to introduce us to this universe i hope you enjoy what we have put together for the narrative as of now we are continually developing the sagas of the story.

Update on the character names the dragon pet is called mutt because his wearing a cat costume yet CADRA (the framer girl) thinks his a dog just for humor purposes

The Prince if I remember correctly we named RDAC its CADRA spelt backwards uh I think

I totally would be happy with CADRA and RDAC being the offical main characters names

Until next post LATERS ;)

Updates on Humanised.com comic project

Hello again lovely people I have some big updates on the characters for humanised.com =D

Our main framer gal has a name now. It connects to the story we have scripted CADA (control alt Delete…. foreshadowing see). Her dragon pet needs a quirky name. As well as the other cast that need some finalising in their designs.

CADA CADA I cannot stop smiling at that name it feels perfect for her character even if there is none as of now.

Apart from the protagonist name decision. I scraped the promo image I was doing for my DA   and restarted it from scratch today showing you the process on how I am using my recent interest in values as a key to understand contrasts in my illustrations better. Its really becoming an effective way of maturing my digital painting skills.

i changed the pose to show the hard working nature of  the girl  almost as if shes stoping for a break

tip always use hard brushes first when doing values it makes setting tones on the other layers much easier  later on

When ever i digital paint my design tends to alter slowly because i keep switching between hard and soft brushes its a good practise but this makes the process as little tiring because your working on area sometimes for 20 10 minutes

this is nowhere near finished or polished as i desire it. her face needs more work so dose that hand pose
I will resume it sometime tomorrow  folks

i have got the script of the comic prolog from my writer (Dad) so i may scan it and upload it tonight

if not LATERS until next post  ; )
