Jowy shenanigans 12/11/15

Jowyverse update this time its another part of my world..

Little Nicky

backstory

Little Nicky ,which is named after the original mayor. Was once a thriving town with the worlds biggest film studio called Nicky inc. It became so famous that it was the goto place for young hopeful actors/ film makers and toons who dreamt of making a big mark in the early days of the entrainment industry.

However as technologies advanced Nicky inc began to run out of money. Unable to sustain itself it Soon was been pursued by potential buyers. One corporation known as Chimp Co wanted to build a brand new banana factory on the site. the studio refused their proposal which Chimp Co did not take very well. driven by greed They hired the infamous Monkey Mafia family to burn down the studio in a series of planed arsons. This forced Little Nicky to fee, along with many of the towns original inhabitants .
The Monkey Mafia continued to work with Chimp Co running business in Little Nicky. eventually the company moved its banana business else where leaving the family free to run and control the town however they liked. At the same time outside of Little Nicky the major city of Ramsusville was growing and it soon costumed the town in to its massive metropolitan area turning it in to a separate urban neighbourhood.

Nowadays Little Nicky is an eerie dark crime filled hub run by the latest generation of the Monkey Mafia family.

Only a few of the remaining theatres/cinemas shine dim lights on to the streets that once were homed to the future stars of tomorrows world.

Jowy shenanigans 25/10/15

Outside my list of commissions and Humanisation.com comic. I have so many wonderful ideas for concept art/ illustration projects to push my existing art skills to new exciting new levels.
The above speed painting is a part of one of these recently thought up ideas. What if there was a city that was a combination of Japan and England/ Europe?
I call the city Kappa Bridge as its named after the famous creature from Japanese folktales. And Bridge is a common ending name for a UK town.

Wip of the speed painting isa below.

Jowy shenanigans 31/8/15

The Last two weeks I have been having a lot of visual thoughts to do with Spies and men in black agents.

I have a very bare description for these characters as there were initially designs I made for fun .
I am still working out their personalities and story.

These two who I will call for now Jason and Mizzy live in Sky Root City.

To quote a friend of mine who has seen this concept before "Sky Root is pretty much a Japanese city on steroids". :)

They are part of an organisation similar to the FBI tracking down and bringing to justice multiple different criminals and villains that pose a threat to an otherwise advanced and clean metropolis.

below are my WIP and a few early sketches I had for the characters.

Jowy shenanigans 16/7/15

Back with more concept art for the jowyverse

These are two speed paintings for the world of Cradle Earth and Sky Root City each represents a different time period and theme.

Cradle Earth
A mysterious steampunk world that is unaffected by the influence of the modern era stuck in a more simpler time,. It is home to a massive population of punks who cause a lot of chaos for the rest of the nation.

It is spilt in too three massive land masses connected by the pillar that keeps the world together. Only way up to another level is by a special evaluator train that only few can afford to travel on.
The sky is blocked by giant paintings depicting the creation of the earth by the gods. Legend has it that at the top of the world is the gates to the worlds heart and the heavens.
Inspiration Steam Boy, pre raphaelite and renaissance art.
Sky Roots City is
a modern high tech green city that is suspended above the sprawling urban metropolis below. Due to the multiple elevators and roads you have to take to get to the city centre It is a drivers worst nightmare.
Inspiration Japanese cities and culture, Mirrors edge.

below is the WIP and initial sketches I have on the two worlds.

time taken for painting 6 hours
