Humanise.com is an Epically ambitious comic/graphic novel of mine that is been written by my dad. And drawn by yours truly.

Penciling for the next page of Humanise.com is underway plenty of action to take in we will aim to get a mock up of a finished page soon

Made a few improvements to the bottom of the two page splash page that will introduce the viewer to the world of interest as a packed thriving metropolis

Humanise.com comic project update 26/6/13

Been able to get a couple more pages inked in and started work on the biggest eye candy of the first issue the giant double-paged spread introducing the viewers to the world of the Internet my style.

The aim of the page is to cram as much internet culture , memes and general wackiness to establish the galaxy sized city of the web after million years when the story is set. My laptop is currently filled with screenshots and names of websites i came across from all spectrums of the World Wide Web.

Humasnise.com update 17/6/13

 Hello all I have decided from now on to spilt each project I do as a separate post so it does not get confusing and boring for me to write

we have a new logo

There have been many great strides made in the development of me and my dad’s ambitious graphic novel/ comic series Humanise.com (name may change).

We have written the full script for issue one and as you can see when you scroll down the page some actual finished pages. The Writer (Dad) has worked on issue threes story it’s getting very exciting. I am still not quite sure how many volumes or issues there will be for the first arc. That’s right there’s going to be multiple character arcs in the overall series. The good thing about coming away from development of H.C for a while was that with the collaboration powers of me and my dad (writer) we could throw out character and joke ideas to put in to the finished product so we can reach as many diverse internet groups out there.

I am no Internet expert but that’s the reason why I want to make this comic a success. Test both my visual and knowledge of a thing that makes my life so much easier and I sadly could not live without it.

 third promo idea I put together today. I did some research in to the Internets history so you get educated while you look at the art for free as well. I know there are lot more founders of the Internet I just picked the three that looked the most important. 

We have a plot symbios to get your taste buds watering a little.

1000 years ago earth is wiped out by war of neutral bombs. At this time the Internet, as we know it was been updated and had began to think independently. Now 1000 years later the Internet has transformed in to a virtual reality where severs websites and programs of all kinds have become living breathing beings connecting together to from a thriving metropolis. Our two main protagonists CADRA the normal farm girl working in the code fields and Mutt her pet dragon suddenly embark on an epic quest to find the code that could bring down the controlling powers of the big bosses Google Apple and many others. But what is this mysterious code?

Engaged yet..... I hope.... this should give you a better grasp on the story and universe we are building here

now heres some inked in pages and character designs to show you whats happened since last updated. 

These two are actually pages that appear later on in issue one reason i have skipped ahead is the first four pages are going to big in your face splash pages detailing the world you are about to enter and i just want to cram as much in these pages as the start of the story will take pace in a rather mundane environment and will focus more on characters then wow look at that detail.

Character Designs

our main cast decided as of now (more to add and design). Cadra and Mutt are the main characters we are focusing on in the story

These three have popped up in my sketchbook for H.COM time and time again the alien Han Solo dressed character is called  Kono 

fairly new idea about Carda traveling with a group of interesting characters with their own unique back story

hello i feel i need to change the oil in my rig

not being much of Jowy stuff in last three weeks so i redesigned him a little in the hair department 

Hello all its been a long time since I last updated this blooming blog my internship at this animation studio Second Home has been a wonderful and productive experience that I will not forget. Because of how much I have done for the director its still continuing this week and maybe the following week.

Now to be honest I had plenty of free time to do an update during the last four weeks. I just started to fell recently that I was treating my blog as a chore not actual work or enjoyment, I get  paranoid about how much information I should charm in to one update .That’s the reason why half my posts end up being longer because I want to get everything out in one post but obviously that can not work every time as you do not have the energy to type everything that comes in to your mind . I believe that maybe shorting the posts to specific projects from now on will get me less stressed and less confusing for viewers.

Right now theres only a couple of projects that are still ongoing that I can talk about  everything else is either client commissions or just not  ready to show yet.

i will get back on track with my blog and make it something worthwhile rather then homework.

Jowy Shenanigans 10/5/13

Hey to all who are looking at my blog right now thought i would just pop in quickly from my busy life to give you a heads up on some new changes.

 First off i am halfway though my internship at Second home animation studios. That’s been great and productive so far got back in to a habit of doodling on paper a lot more.

Second I recently purchased a brand newA3 scanner hence the bad cartoon at the top so you can expect a lot more behind the scenes of my graphic novel project humanise.com which I have started to post about on my DA account to get it noticed by a larger audience it’s a beast of a machine and we need to set it up first before I can scan which will be fun. 

I will save my breath for now so i can prepare for next weeks workload and come back with a much broader update real soon

Actually i just wanted to post up this silly tablet drawing is the real truth but still its fair to update on the blog anyways. All other projects outside my blog can be found updated on my DA account I want to keep this blog limited to my personal and professional work then fanart stuff though my brony art is giving me a lot of traction.

Jowy Shenanigans 21/4/13

I believe that one can have a lot more to discuss in an update if its weekly rather then daily so unless anything major happens I will update my blog at least weekly so I do not have this guilty thought in my head about updating everyday as I do not work every single hour.

The biggest news is as of this Monday I have signed off the job centre and start a four-week internship at a local animation company in Birmingham called Second Homes. Doing mostly storyboard work but getting to explore other media within the four weeks. I am looking forward to working with the director there and it should be a fulfilling insightful experience in to one of the industries I would adore to work in later on down the line.

I do want to upload the development of the paid jobs I have being doing in the last few weeks but I do not want to spoil the surprise of what they are and I need to respect my client’s wishes. All part of being a professional

Jowy Web comic

No new pages have been done yet maybe today. Last week I concentrated more on developing the world of Jowy and the many characters I have. I can share some of these ideas with you here.

Ramsusville is Jowys home city and its going to be a very muti cultural and spices mixed metropolis so every street and area will be unique I am planning out the entire city in my mind as I write this so expect more craziness on this and my other characters very soon. The insanity does not stop here folks it just grows. 

i recently have wanted to include the era of classic black and white cartoons in to my Jowy world and thought up a name for this borough in Ramsusville which will be the hub for the classic hijinks and style of the early 1930s and 40s and it would be in black and white.

I thought that Little Nicky could be the name of a character that founded the place and was a big star back in the day.

Playland kingdom is home to essentially the food music and toy universe. It’s a gorgeous hub of fun and happy people ruled by the kind hearted teenage princess Elea. But on the far south side of the empire is the iron metal plains a harsh wasteland of bikers and mechanical monstrosities ruled under the influence of the notorious Gunman and his gambling weapon operated city of Guntopia. (Yeah he is a big head naming his city after himself).
Only one thing scares gunman and that’s the trio of princess Eleas friends Roy and Kiwi who aid her in her ongoing battle to stop the iron metal wastelands spreading across the Playland kingdom.

So your not confused Roy is the protagonist not Elea 

The Pandaora Empire is an ancient continent and civilisation (Chinese Japanese inspired). Thousands of years ago they fought a furious war with the mighty snow people over the land. The Pandaora army was victorious over the snow people. And the empires fearless leader (as of now unnamed) killed the snow peoples king leaving them powerless against the expanding empire and were forced to live in the mountains. Thousands of years later the new king of the snow people who is the son of the beloved first king Ferdwick wants to claim back what was rightfully his peoples. Meanwhile the Pandaora Empire has become a thriving developed city with a royal monarch who controls the armed forces. The empire gets in to conflict with neighbouring tribes related to the snow people. Its now only a matter of time before a fierce war breaks out between the two divisions.

Boxer the ninja flea is a skilled teenage ninja from a long line of warriors who relied on odd unique weapons to fight their opponents. His unique weapon is a boxing glove gun (hence his name). Apart from being one of the modern day heroes to the Pandaora Empire and being close friends with princess molanda his a normal rebellious teenager.

Princess Molanda is the respected Princess of the royal family swamped in family tradition and overly productive parents she wants to get more out of life and secretly accomplices Boxer on his adventures throughout the land. Molanda believes that one day both sides will join together in peace and the fighting will stop.

Jr Hammer is Boxers younger brother A feisty short tempered kid with the unique power of flying hammers. He tends to iterate boxer wherever they go but his a strong ninja for his age group and a reliable sidekick.

Ferdwick is the second King to the snow people and also a teenage dritbag. Although he will stop at nothing to bring down the Pandaroa Empire and its army he always makes excuses to play a couple more games and listen to metal music and be a regular slob, this annoys his advisers a lot.


Frozen pyjamas is the name of a place in the empire where giants thousands of years ago lived not associated with the war. They lived in peace until the fighting moved towards their territory and they fleed in panic. Only their pyjamas and night dress frozen in huge blocks of ice are what remains of their harmonious existence its become a popular tourist attraction in the empire great for the economy.

we have an idea for the logo :)

My Writer (Dad) is still coming up with new ideas for the world and characters and he has even thought ahead to the climax and twists in the story its all getting very exciting and mysterious.

I need to do my part now and visually jolt down some of these ideas before I forget them. And start work on drafting out the first few pages so I can achieve my deadline of before November for finished pages to show at Leeds Thought Bubble this year.

Humanises process has slowed down recently but I hope to pick up the pace with it soon and show the development once I have got an A3 working scanner.

This project has too much going for it to just let it die.

Warley Woods’s greeting card print project

Still had no word on the sells of the greeting cards I sold to my local woods shop two weeks ago. But I am confident i should get a response back soon enough, they seemed extremely interested in the designs.

Jowy Shenanigans 21/4/13

Last week has been a feel good week so many happy things happened and I am going to talk about them now.

Two weeks ago I registered my sole trader name as Jowybean and received the printed versions of my new business cards and greeting cards that I have been designing for the last two months or so.

I planed to sell these pieces at the local shop in my woods for a reasonable price. Not only to show case my art but also to advertise the beauty and fun of the woods community trust to the general public. Wednesday morning I went in had my interview with the manger and left behind samples of the cards for them to show to the other staff and customers. They brought them so I technically in a long time got my first sale. Now all I can do for this project is sit back and wait and for the response from the sales and customers. If its popular then I am on to a winner if not I can try a different avenue to sell them.

Moo.com is where i got my cards and business cards printed very good service and prices well worth a look at. 

I am doing multiple jobs right now but I am not allowed to show development of any of them due to the client’s wishes. This is a little annoying as theirs so much content to share from these commissions, but I have to respect the clients I am working for they are paying me after all.

Humanise.com graphic novel project

Started work on the rough pencils for the first few pages while my writer (Dad) bombarded me with a load of new ideas and jokes to put in to the final product I aim to have these pages done by august and also hope to get a bigger scanner so I can archive the process on the blog better.

Jowy comic

The Jowy comic has become a web comic and I started it last Thursday its been going smoothly so far and I will try with all my might to make it a coincident series. You can find it on DA but I might as well post it on here.

Last item on the agenda of today’s blog update is internships

I had inquired an internship at a local animation studio called Second homes. The director last Tuesday confirmed that my start date would be the 29^th of this month, which is only a week away. It will be for four weeks so obviously there may not be that much updating on the blog. But I will do my best to keep you updated with development on everything I do I hope that this internship will actually mature my thinking and approach to the way I work. I think my style of work is sloppy at the best of times.
